Lactating Mares - Feed Hyfeed Intence & Soygize

Release Date: 23-Feb-2016

Do you know that a lactating mare at the peak of lactation (4-10weeks after foaling) requires higher protein, Calcium, Phosphorus & Vitamin A intake each day then a similar sized horse performing moderate-intense work for up to 60min daily?

They require around 2.5-3.0% of body weight in feed per day. With some mares consuming up to 3.5%. This is 3kg/100kg of body weight (15kg/day for a 500kg horse). Crude protein requirements are 12-14%, with Lysine being 0.41% of feed.

Don't forget to weigh your feed (don't go by volume) to ensure your mare & foal are having their nutritional needs met.
An adequate supply of good quality water is critical to maintain milk production in mares, especially during hot weather.

Hyfeed IntenceSoygize are ideal supplements for lactating mares to help meet protein & Lysine requirements.
